FIRM'S PHILOSOPHY:

HISTORY OF FIRM:
Mr. James A. Lucas, Sr. completed his accounting degree in 1949 and began working for the Internal Revenue Service. Working with the Internal Revenue Service made him realize that he could help people by helping them file their income tax returns properly, thus helping them avoid problems with the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Lucas left the Internal Revenue Service in 1966 to open the doors to his own private accounting firm, which is now James A. Lucas and Company, L.L.P. His eldest son, James A. Lucas, Jr., followed in his father's footsteps to complete his accounting degree in 1973. He began working along side his father in 1974. The father-son team continued to work hand in hand full-time until 1985 when Mr. Lucas, Sr. decided to relinquish the position of managing partner. James A. Lucas and Company, L.L.P. was happy to announce the appointment of five new partners; JoEllen H. Wilkes and Franklin D. Bailey, Jr. in 1995, Gwendolyn D. Hodges and Travis R. May, Jr. in 2000 and Christy L. Derrenbacher in 2004.
